We've tweaked the Club Calendar a bit, so read on to find out about some extra events we're organising for you...

Lantau Weekend - Sat/Sun July 19/20

Sail to Lantau's Cheung Sha Beach this Saturday morning, party and stay overnight at Scanto's weekend house, then sail back to Tai Tam on Sunday.  Sounds good now that the sun is shining once again!  If you want to take part, please let Mike Scantlebury know asap as space is limited ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , mobile 6718 0727).

Geometric Racing & BBQ - Saturday July 26

Get in some summer 'round the cans' practice, and relax afterwards at a beachside BBQ.  Skippers' briefing at 11:00 for a start soon after.  There will be a small entry fee to cover the BBQ costs.  Register your interest with John Ashwood ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , mobile 6338 5113).  Guests are welcome to join the BBQ - just let John know how many guest tickets you'd like.

Horwath Hobie Asian Classic 2008 - October 4 - 6

We are delighted to announce that Horwath Hong Kong Group has signed up to be the title sponsor for our major club regatta - the Horwath Hobie Asian Classic 2008.  We will also be supported by Allied Pickfords, Neil Pryde, Aberdeen Boat Club and Habia Cable.  All are returning sponsors, and we are very grateful for their support.  The NoR will be issued soon...

Typhoon Season - Masts Down - Reminder

Lots of masts still need to be lowered.  Don't forget that from July 1st to October 1st, the Club rule is that all masts should be lowered and secured when you're not at the Club.  This vastly reduces the chance of serious boat damage during high winds.   The only exception is for the Tigers - their stiffer rigging means their masts don't wave about in the wind.  The Tiger Fleet Captain will make the call if the Tiger fleet needs to lower their masts if a large storm is approaching.

All boat owners should ensure that their boat is well tied down - use at least 4 anchor points and make sure your tie down ropes are long and strong enough.  Lash your cover on well and check your insurance is up to date.
